Ole Madsen
Ole Madsen is a professor at the Department of mechanical and manufacturing Engineering at Aalborg University, where he is head of the research group on Robotics and Automation.
He has more than 20 years of experience in industrial automation. Ole Madsen has worked at Aalborg University as assistant professor and associate professor. He has also worked for Odense Staalskibsværft A/S as consultant; at IWA (Intelligent Welding Automation) A/S as cofounder, system developer and manager; and at Grundfos A/S focusing on manufacturing innovation. His research interest includes flexible and mobile robotics, reconfigurable manufacturing systems and Industry 4.0. Ole Madsen has more than 100 international publications and has participated in a number of national projects as well as international EU-funded research projects. Ole Madsen is the one of the key persons behind Aalborg University’s Smart production research program. The objective of this program is to research and demonstrate emergent digital technologies concepts. The present budget of Smart Production and adjacent projects sum up to approximately 7 mill euro. Currently, 8 PhD’s and 10 senior researchers work with topics in and around Smart Production.
